Virender Sehwag slams maiden double century in ODIs, scripts history
Swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag slammed maiden double century in ODIs as he became only second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the landmark. Sehwag surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's score when, on 197, he cut Andre Russell to the point fence for his 23rd boundary during the fourth ODI between India and West Indies at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Thursday.
It was Sehwag's 15th three-figure knock in one-day cricket and the first since making 175 against Bangladesh in the opening match of the World Cup in Dhaka in February this year.
Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was the first to reach the milestone when he scored unbeaten 200 against South Africa in Gwalior on February 24, 2010.
